Our faculty, staff, and students exhibit the Wildcat Way in every aspect of our day! Here are a few examples of what it looks like at our school!

The Wildcat Way has taught us the importance of service projects within our school. Local organizations in need of our help visit our school for a schoolwide Passion Project Fair. Each classroom selects the one they would like to support. We want to educate students about the need for service learning and then have them advocate, fundraise, volunteer and donate in order to help their cause. They learn how they can impact their school, community and the world. Students raise funds, supplies, send sweet notes, raise awareness, or send treats to this cause to help our community. A few of this year’s Passion Projects sponsored by our students include Crossing Points, Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter, Secret Meals, United Way Success by 6, Relay for Life, Kristen Amerson Foundation, Unicef, Turning Points, Caring Days, The Water Project, Save the Turtles, and many more!

Every classroom has a community meeting each day to build relationships with each other and to teach character education to our students in an authentic way.

HPES has an Inclusion Club that creates awareness and educates students about individuals with exceptionalities. Inclusion is a way of life at Huntington Place. We want students to feel valued and loved.

Huntington Place Elementary has been recognized as a State School of Character. We are 1 of 4 schools in our state, and 1 of 81 in the nation! We are very proud of how the Wildcat Way character initiative has transformed our school and is preparing our students to be successful students, employees, friends, and community members!
